It costs many thousands of pounds to finance the running of the Carnival each year. The sole aim of our Carnival is to perpetuate our tradition and ensure our right to do so is maintained for generations to come.
The last twenty years has seen our expenses rise significantly due to modern day legislation and public liability insurance. Even so, the aim of the Carnival Committee has been to provide this unique spectacle free of charge to whoever decides to attend. This philosophy is only maintained by fund raising throughout the year and by donations and collections during the events. Should there be money left over after paying the bills surplus funds are donated locally.
Because our events draw large crowds we are able to involve many local businesses and organisations in benefiting financially from the Carnival. Local organisations raise money from stalls, car parks and programme selling. All commercial stalls, which are limited due to the reduced trading space in the streets, pay a rent to the Carnival. If you want to get involved as a sponsor or to contribute in other ways then please use the form below.
