"200 Miles, we can do that on three weeks training"

On Thursday 23rd August two barrel rollers, Connor Down and Jake Freeman will be enduring the ultimate physical challenge in a aid of Ottery St Mary Carnival and Tar Barrels.

In four day’s they will be running 200 miles back to Ottery St Mary in the hope of a warm welcome by all attending Ottery St Mary Carnival Fun Day.

Speaking to both lads just over 3 weeks before the start it is clear the reality of the event Is kicking in, when asked how training is going Connor announced he has run twice in the last year!!!

Why are they doing this you ask? Both lad’s have taken part in Tar Barrels from a young age and are passionate to help raise the much needed funds for this event to continue.

It is clear that this event will take a lot of physical and mental commitment and this is where you can help, all money raised from this event will go directly to keeping this tradition going.

Whether you are able to sponsor them (please see attached form), are free on the 26th August to join the welcome party at Ottery St Mary Carnival Fun Day or are able to offer assistance with kit sponsorship, a support van or even give up some of your time to come along and support them along the route this is your opportunity to support the lad’s in their epic mission to run 200 miles in four days.

All donations will not just keep these two going along the hill’s, through the blisters and aches and pains but also make a real difference with keeping this unique tradition running.

To follow this epic journey please follow ‘Friends of Carnival and Barrel Night’ on Facebook as Connor and Jake will be uploading pictures and photos over the coming weeks training and then during the 200 miles!
